About me

By shopping at the UTE E-shop, you support Estonian eco-friendly small farms and national craft masters.

Most of the wool handicrafts in the online store are made of sheep wool and as much as I can, I use Kihnu native sheep wool.

The Kihnu native sheep is a local indigenous breed that originally formed the majority of the Estonian native sheep breed, but by the beginning of the 21st century it had survived only on islands and isolated outlying areas. On 20.01.2016, the Kihnu native sheep was recognized as a breed. The sheep breed was listed as an endengered species in 2019.

I myself raised Kihnu native sheep for almost 15 years. I've loved doing crafts since I was a child - my grandmother taught me.

For 2 years I have studied at the Viljandi Academy of Culture in the department of national handicrafts.
